By all accounts, we really should have died
It is distressingly normal for me to go entire days without human interaction in any form. It is also distressingly normal for me to spend totally unjustifiable portions of my day fucking around on the internet. (I can't leave the computer, because I'm TRYING to write an essay, but the ratio of work time to facebook/blogs/webcomics/random googling time is ... not good.)

But I wrote a poem that I like. And I finished reading The Age of Innocence, and my heart is a little bit broken. And it finally feels like winter, by which I mean, it is dry and a little bit chilly, like Denver in early October. And I'll be home in a week.

things i am not jealous of: essay, heartbroken state of being

things i am jealous of: successful writing, warmth, relatively close proximity of homecoming (two weeks for me)

Kara, I had a dream where you were furious at me and I didn't know why. It made me so sad.

Congrats on writing a good poem, and also, are you gonna come visit me???

I feel you on the lack of human interaction. I feel like my computer is my closest physical friend at college, and while I don't totally mind, it does feel weird.

Congrats on the poem. Also I vote Denver lies wildly about ages and all my favorite "too-old" youth slammers compete in Chicago. 'Cause it would bring a smile to so many faces.

i'm actually still within the age range (19 is the cutoff, right? i have a late birthday) but i have the same problem i did last year ... i'll still be in austin for the first few months that the denver team will be together. but i'll be in chicago no matter what. i trust i will see you there?

That's excellent news. I have a late birthday too, which is why I'm still eligible.

I'm hoping to make it to Chicago, but I actually can't make any promises yet. My life is really up in the air right now and anything could happen. I'll do everything I can to get there though, on a team or on my own.
